Supplier of steel structures for the African continent

PMB STEEL designs and manufactures pre-engineered steel buildings and all associated structural components: rigid frames (clear-span & multi-span), purlins, girts, eave struts, bracing, roof & wall cladding, and trim accessories.

All structures are engineered in compliance with AISC 360, ASCE 7, MBMA, Eurocode 3 (EN 1993), or any applicable local building code depending on the project location. Each building is custom-designed to withstand site-specific loading conditions: dead loads (DL), live loads (LL), wind loads (WL), and seismic loads (E) where applicable.

Design, manufacturing, delivery

All structural components — built-up welded sections (plate girders), cold-formed C/Z purlins and girts, roof and wall panels, high-strength bolts and accessories — are manufactured in our ISO 9001 certified facility in Vietnam.

Components are packed and shipped in standard 20’ and 40’ sea containers to the nearest African port of discharge or directly to your project site.

Our turnkey service covers the full project chain from engineering to delivery:

  • Structural Engineering: Load analysis, structural design per applicable codes, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and anchor bolt plans.

  • Fabrication: Cutting, welding, drilling, surface treatment (shot blasting + anti-corrosion primer or hot-dip galvanizing).

  • Logistics: Optimized container loading, ocean freight (FOB/CIF/CFR), customs clearance assistance.

  • Erection (optional): On-site erection supervision or full turnkey erection with our local partners.

Our materials and building systems

STEEL FRAMEWORK

Primary and secondary steelwork

Our structures are built with custom-designed built-up welded sections (plate girders) in S235 or S355 grade steel, engineered to meet each project's specific loading requirements. Secondary members — endwall columns, stiffeners, base plates — use standard hot-rolled sections (HEA, HEB, IPE). Roof purlins and wall girts are cold-formed C or Z profiles, galvanized, delivering an optimized strength-to-weight ratio.

CORROSION PROTECTION

Steel finishes: painted or galvanized

Every structure is protected according to site climate conditions, in compliance with ISO 12944:

• Painted steel: shot blasting to SA 2.5 + zinc-rich epoxy primer + polyurethane topcoat. Dry film thickness (DFT) specified per corrosivity category (C3 to C5).

• Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG): full zinc immersion per ISO 1461, minimum coating 85μm. Recommended for purlins, bolts and steelwork in aggressive environments (coastal, humid tropical).

• Cold-formed purlins and girts: Z275 galvanized steel as standard.

BUILDING ENVELOPE

Roofing and cladding: from single skin to insulated sandwich panels

The building envelope typically accounts for 30 to 40% of the total project cost. We offer three solutions tailored to your requirements:

• Single-skin sheeting: pre-painted steel 0.4 to 0.7mm, trapezoidal or corrugated profiles. Cost-effective solution for hangars, ventilated warehouses and agricultural buildings.

• Insulated sandwich panels: PU/PIR foam or rock wool core, thickness 50 to 150mm, thermal coefficient U-value 0.25 to 0.50 W/m².K. Ideal for cold rooms, food processing plants, climate-controlled buildings.

• Double-skin with insulation: inner liner sheet + glass wool + outer sheet. A balanced compromise between cost and thermal/acoustic performance.

Available options: ventilated ridge cap, polycarbonate translucent panels, integrated gutters, rain flashings, canopies.

Map of Africa Construction

Quality, regulations and standards

Our structures are sized in accordance with the Eurocodes, AISC/MBMA standards, or applicable local codes.

Climate adaptation

Our buildings are designed to perform across the full range of African climate conditions: from the arid Saharan regions (high thermal amplitude, sandstorms) to the humid tropical zones of Central and West Africa (high humidity, heavy rainfall). Anti-corrosion protection is specified accordingly, from corrosivity category C3 to C5 per ISO 12944.

Infrastructure & Construction

We are committed to having a local approach and consider sustainable development and partnerships with companies, NGOs or institutions in Africa
