Prefabricated buildings are buildings designed in a factory and assembled on-site. Also known as PEBs (Pre-Engineered Buildings), they are generally steel structures. The assembled sections are manufactured in a factory to the exact dimensions, transported to the site, and assembled on-site with bolted connections. This type of structural concept is commonly used to construct industrial buildings, subway stations, warehouses, and so on.Prefabricated steel buildings utilize a combination of formed sections, hot-rolled sections, and cold-formed elements, providing the basic steel frame with a choice of single-skin sheets with additional insulation or insulated sandwich panels for the roof and wall cladding. The concept is designed to provide a complete building envelope system that is airtight, energy-efficient, optimized in terms of weight and cost, and, most importantly, designed to meet the user's needs.
